Jack pushed open the door and registered first that the lights were on when he was sure he'd turned them off and he heard movement. Had someone broken in? He dropped his pack very quietly next to the door and stepped in. It would just put a cap on this god-awful day if someone was trying to steal his shitty TV.

Next he registered that it smelled like food, though, and he didn't think a lot of burglars came with Thai food. He closed the door behind him quietly anyway, just as Robby came around the corner. That might actually be worse than someone trying to steal his shitty TV.
