Jack knew that some of the gossip around The Pitt (and at least one bet) involved whether he and Emery Walsh had ever slept together. The words 'hate-flirting' had been involved, as far as he had heard. Honestly it was so incorrect it just amused Jack, and he was pretty sure it also amused Emery, so they played it up now and then.

"I just realized I gotta break in a whole new set of surgeons," he replied with a sigh. "Maybe I should rethink taking this job."
