Jack had shaved for the interview, so he probably did look a little
younger, but there were still plenty of lines on his face and grey strands
in his hair. He didn’t mind any of that. Grey hair and lines on his face
were proof he’d survived everything life had thrown at him so far. They
were proof Robby had survived as well.
“I can do both,” he pointed out, and loosened the tie a little more so he
could tug it over his head and then stuff it into his pocket. Then he
unbuttoned the first two buttons of his shirt so that he looked like he
might dress if he was going on a date, assuming he ever went on another
date.
“There. Back to my usual disreputable-looking self. I better hope Dr
Evenson doesn’t see me. That dude does not like me. Does he like anyone?”
